About Avi Sipe
Hi, I’m Avi! I’m a Vermont watercolor artist who paints mundane, everyday things whose beauty can sometimes be forgotten. My work blends elegance, warmth, and a little bit of nostalgia, creating watercolor art prints that bring comfort and personality into any space!
I started painting in my college apartment during a time when I didn’t really know who I was, a time when your perception of the world is changing with you. Although it was a new hobby, watercolor became a source of stability and comfort. It slowed my mind down. I quickly became obsessed with painting. I felt like a different person when I painted, a version I really wanted to be.
It was my junior year of college. I was majoring in psychology and economics, and yet I spent the majority of my time painting. I was surprised by how comforting it felt to paint the everyday objects around me — the things you pass by without thinking. There’s something grounding about noticing the small stuff. When you really look at an object, it becomes a tiny snapshot of who you were, where you were living, what mattered to you, and what made you feel at home.Painting those pieces became a way of marking time, almost like keeping a visual diary without needing any words.
Today, my watercolor illustrations still carry that same softness and intentionality. My goal is to create artwork that feels personal, warm, and quietly beautiful — whether it ends up as home decor, a meaningful gift, or a print for someone’s first apartment!
Avi Sipe Art has grown far beyond the version of myself who first picked up a paintbrush in my college apartment. I would have never imagined getting to this point. It’s become a shop, a community, and a part of my identity I’m incredibly proud of. Whether you’re drawn to whimsical objects, soft watercolor home decor, or unique wall art that feels comforting and familiar, I’m so glad you’re here!
